THE LORD'S PRAYER - Part 2: Submission to His Will
"Your Kingdom come, YOUR WILL DONE, on earth as it is in Heaven." Matthew 6:10
"PRAYER should reflect a DESIRE TO ALIGN OURSELVES WITH GOD'S GOALS AND PURPOSES, not to get Him to follow our plans." Charles F Stanley
PRAYING ACCORDING TO GOD'S WILL
"And let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not."
Galatians 6:9
"Due season" is when GOD KNOWS WE ARE READY, not when you think you are ready. He has APPOINTED TIMES for accomplishing certain things in your lives, so SETTLE DOWN and WAIT PATIENTLY. That's when IT WILL HAPPEN, not before.
If your faith in GOD'S WISDOM is stronger than your personal agenda, He'll hold to His promise. TRUST HIM - THE ANSWER WILL COME!
It takes maturity to understand that IF GOD DOESN'T SUPPLY IT, YOU DON'T NEED IT, or YOU DON'T NEED IT YET! If you needed it, He'd give it to you.
"No good thing will be withheld from them that walk uprightly." Psalm 84:11
SEEKING GOD'S WILL
"Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to TEST AND APPROVE GOD'S WILL - the GOOD, PLEASING AND PERFECT WILL" Romans 12:2
Knowing the WILL OF GOD for our lives seems to be of paramount importants to most Christians. We all wants a SIGN or a SIGNAL, some kind of indication from God that the choices we are making are the right ones. The BIBLE has the answers for every challenge in our life.

5) Pay close attention to CLOSED DOORS. This is one way GOD OFTEN REVEALS HIS WILL. Keep moving ahead until HE OPENS A DOOR.
"Paul and his companions travelled throughout the region of Phygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the Word in the Province of Asia." Acts 16:6
6)Recognize that God chooses SOMETIMES to reveal His ways to us. If we don't have a clear Word from God, follow Scripture.

7)As long as we are WALKING
IN GOD'S REVEALED WILL,
FILLED WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT,
we should proceed with the desires
of our heart.
8)Value the WISE COUNSEL OF OTHERS. We need to seek the GODLY COUNSEL OF PEOPLE COMMITTED TO FOLLOWING GOD'S WILL IN THEIR LIVES AND OURS.
9) Evaluate the answers to TOUGH QUESTIONS:
* Will this be beneficial to me and my family?
* Will this GLORIFY GOD and bring honour to Him?
* Will this be a wise financial decision?
* Will this enhance my career?
* Will this help me be a GOOD STEWARD OF THE GIFTS GOD HAD GIVEN ME?
* Will this enhance my marriage?
God's
God's revealed will is found in SCRIPTURE, through PRAYER and WISE COUNSEL with other Christian mentors. WE CAN TRUST HIM and BE PATIENT with our future."I TAKE JOY IN DOING YOUR WILL, O God, for your law is written in my heart." Psalm 40:8
SUBMIT YOUR OWN WILL AND REASONING TO THE HOLY SPIRIT
Many times your own will and reasoning get in the way of what the Lord is trying to saying to you. The Bible certainly affirms God's sovereignty and power, to work out HIS PLANS AND PURPOSES, but this does not mean He is deaf to our prayers.
"Commit your works to Lord, and your plans will be established." Psalm 37:5
Just as God works through the natural events of the world, so He works through our prayers to achieve His will.
"The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working." James 5:16
